The Geospatial Hub simplifies management and distribution of spatial data within an organisation. It allows departments, often with different GIS systems to share a common ORACLE database. Corporate data are made widely available via an intranet application. Map and data management are centralised and costs reduced.

The Geospatial Hub consists of a central spatial database with modules to

• manage and maintain the database schema and user access rights
• provide web access to corporate GIS data allowing users to view and plot the data
• control data import and export with options to automate standard processes
• control data quality and manage multiple versions of data
• publish ISO compliant metadata

The Geospatial Hub has been implemented at several major local authorities improving access to, and increasing the value of, spatial data to the organisations.
